About this Session
Carbon accounting specifically focuses on the greenhouse gas emissions for an organization, analogous to the climate change life cycle impact category (i.e., global warming potential). Both the US and Europe impact assessment methodologies follow the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change guidance and is distinct from the GHG Protocol. This session will illuminate the differences between these methods and the GHG Protocol, and explain how carbon offsets can be employed to achieve carbon reduction targets for an organization.
